Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Veldam platform (website, mobile application, and related services), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use our services.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. We will notify users of material changes via email or in-app notification.

2. Definitions

• "Platform" refers to the Veldam website, mobile application, APIs, and all related services.
• "User" refers to any individual who creates an account on the platform, whether as a rider or driver.
• "Driver" refers to a user who publishes rides and offers seats to other users.
• "Rider" refers to a user who searches for and books seats on available rides.
• "Ride" refers to a carpool or taxi journey facilitated through the platform.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid government-issued identification to use the platform. Drivers must additionally hold a valid driver's license and vehicle registration documents as required by Indian law.

4. Account Registration & Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as necessary.

You must notify Veldam immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account. Veldam is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized use of your account.

5. Services Provided

Veldam is a technology platform that connects drivers offering rides with riders seeking transportation. Veldam does not itself provide transportation services and is not a carrier. The contractual relationship for the ride exists directly between the driver and the rider.

Our services include but are not limited to: ride search and booking, driver verification, in-app communication, ride tracking, safety features (SOS, ride sharing), and issue reporting.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

• Provide false or misleading information in your profile, ride details, or communications.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Harass, threaten, or behave inappropriately towards other users.
• Attempt to circumvent the platform's payment or booking systems.
• Create multiple accounts or use another user's account without authorization.
• Upload malicious content, spam, or engage in any activity that disrupts the platform.

7. Driver Responsibilities

• Maintain a valid driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance at all times.
• Ensure the vehicle is roadworthy and meets all safety standards.
• Accurately represent ride details including route, timing, available seats, and pricing.
• Not drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or any impairing substances.
• Follow all traffic laws and regulations during the ride.

8. Pricing & Payments

Ride pricing on our carpool service is set by drivers as a cost-sharing contribution. Veldam provides fare estimates as guidance but does not mandate pricing. The agreed fare is displayed at the time of booking.

Veldam may charge a service fee for facilitating rides. All applicable fees are disclosed before booking confirmation.

9. Cancellations & Refunds

Users may cancel rides subject to our cancellation policy. Cancellations made within the free cancellation window incur no charges. Late cancellations may attract a cancellation fee as displayed at the time of booking.

Drivers who repeatedly cancel confirmed rides may face account restrictions or suspension.

10. Reviews, Ratings & Complaints

Users may leave reviews and ratings after completed rides. Reviews must be honest, respectful, and based on genuine experiences. Veldam reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these standards.

Users can report issues or file complaints through the platform. Veldam will investigate and respond to complaints in a timely manner but does not guarantee specific outcomes.

11. Intellectual Property

The Veldam name, logo, and all platform content (excluding user-generated content) are the intellectual property of Veldam. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our platform content without prior written consent.

12. Limitation of Liability

Veldam provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Veldam shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the platform.

Veldam is not responsible for the actions, conduct, or safety of any user (driver or rider) during rides. Users travel at their own risk.

13. Account Termination

Veldam may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or conduct that harms the platform or other users. You may also delete your account at any time through your account settings.

14. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the platform shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation first. If unresolved, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Hyderabad, Telangana, India.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any use of the platform is subject to all applicable central, state, and local laws and regulations.
